Equal Opportunities Policy
First and foremost, this is an evolving document, and we seek to always be revising and adding to the ways we can support people from underrepresented backgrounds, identities, etc. We welcome conversations, feedback, discussion and thoughts on this policy or any other aspect of our work, and we commit to regular review of how we can support this..
We believe that theatre is a fundamentally human artistic expression, and all people should have access to it – whether that be as audience, participant, creator or more. We recognise that in work and in life, individuals and groups have been subject to individual and systemic discrimination on grounds including but not limited to gender, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, health status, HIV status, age, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, political beliefs or trade union membership, class, responsibility for dependents, physical attributes, and ex-offender status.
We understand that this discrimination has and continues to affect individuals’ access to the arts, whether that be recreationally or professionally, via such things as financial resources, time commitments and so on. We believe it is our duty to combat this in all our work, by undertaking to prevent and eliminate discrimination, foster good relations, and consider and counterbalance its effects in all our opportunities and work.
Anarchy Division commits to creating open and fair work environments, taking grievances seriously and dealing with them properly, promoting dignity and respect for all. We commit to actively working to ensure our opportunities are open and accessible. We commit to fair employment conditions, including access to trade union representation, flexible arrangements for those with care responsibilities. We commit to open discussion around all of these, and accountability to our creatives, performers, partners and the public.
